Hunter Swayngim began working with the ISSO in 2017 as a Student Assistant. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in History with a Minor in the Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Rights in 2019. In October 2020 he began working with the Political Science department as the Undergraduate Administrative Associate  and in July 2022 he took on the Administrative Assistant position in the ISSO. 

Hunter is from Mills River, North Carolina and grew up on a small farm deep in the Appalachian mountains. In high school he built a trebuchet to launch leftover pumpkins in Autumn. He enjoys antique shopping, camping, cooking, and taking road trips with friends. Some of his favorite destinations include Blowing Rock/Boone, North Carolina, Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg, Tennessee, Washington D.C., and Charleston, South Carolina.
