STEM OPT

The ISSO provides continuing advising to alumni applying for or on STEM OPT to ensure that former students understand what they need to do over the course of the STEM OPT period.

STEM OPT Workshop: Are you an F-1 student graduating with a degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM)? This workshop will walk you through everything you need to know about applying for the 24-month STEM OPT extension. We’ll cover:

• Eligibility requirements and the application timeline
• The Form I-983 training plan and employer responsibilities
• Reporting requirements during STEM OPT
• Travel considerations and compliance reminders

You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions and learn about common mistakes to avoid in the application process.
