Faculty & Scholars
Welcome to the United States and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte!
UNC Charlotte welcomes international faculty and scholars to teach, conduct research, and collaborate with colleagues on its campus. During a given academic year, UNC Charlotte hosts approximately 125 faculty and scholars from more than 25 different countries. The ISSO provides support for international faculty and scholars by:
- Helping faculty and scholars who teach and conduct research at UNC Charlotte , including providing information about immigration regulations and University services.
- Advising UNC Charlotte departments on procedures for hosting international faculty and scholars, including providing assistance in choosing appropriate immigration classifications, clarifying sponsor obligations, and assisting with visa request forms.
- Assisting prospective faculty and scholars who are interested in coming to UNC Charlotte, including providing information about academic appointments, visas, and life in Charlotte.
- Sharing information to allow stakeholders to learn about visa categories.
