Tarek Elshayeb has served as Director of the ISSO since August 2013. He has previously held similar positions at Western Kentucky University, Indiana University-Purdue Fort Wayne (IPFW), State University of New York (SUNY) Plattsburgh and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM).

Denise Medeiros serves as the Associate Director of the ISSO and has been a staff member since November, 2002. She has previously worked with international students and scholars at Cornell University and the State University of New York at Buffalo. She holds a Master of Arts in Education in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies both from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Daniel “Dillon” Clausner Jr. has worked as an International Student and Scholar Advisor at UNC-Charlotte since December 2019. After graduating with a BA from Northwestern University, he served in the U.S. Peace Corps for 2 years in Cambodia. During the Peace Corps, Dillon was overawed by the warm welcome that Cambodians extended to him, and vowed to pursue a career where he could extend a similar welcome to those coming to the United States for work or study.

Vivian Klentos joined the ISSO team in July 2021. She is both a first-generation American and first-generation college student. Her international background includes working with both refugee and asylee populations, as well as international students at the university level. She holds a Master's Degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY, and a Bachelor's Degree in Global and International Studies from the State University of New York at Oswego in Oswego, NY.

Chau Tran has served as SEVIS Coordinator in the ISSO since April 2003. She has previously worked at the University of South Carolina as the Accountant/Programmer in the Controller’s Office and from Duke Energy as IT Consultant. Chau holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from UNC Charlotte.
Chau has traveled to England, France, Malta, Latvia, Honduras, Belize and Mexico.
